Laguna Beach-based zpizza has won the Libby Award (short for “liberation”) for most vegan-friendly restaurant chain, peta2 announced Monday.
Visitors to peta2.com helped the youth animal rights organization determine winners by voting for their favorites.
The restaurant won out over other chains by providing vegan choices, including vegan cheese, veggie burger crumbles, artichoke hearts, arugula, roasted eggplant, zucchini and mushrooms. The chain also offers a specialty pizza called the Berkeley Vegan, as well as vegan calzones, sandwiches and salads.
